Winter Jam

 

 

 

3 lbs Apples

2 Bananas

1 Lemon

2 Oranges

2 Pints Water

6 lbs Sugar

1 Bottle Certo

 

 

 

1.         Peel, core and chop the apples, peel and slice the bananas, cut the

lemon rind into very thin slices removing all the pips, peel the oranges,

chop up the pulp only.

 

 

2.         Put the fruit into a pan with the water, bring to the boil and simmer,

covered, for 30 minutes.

 

 

3.         Measure 4 lbs of this mixture into a preserving pan, making up the

weight with water if necessary.

 

 

4.         Add the sugar.

 

 

5.         Bring to the boil and boil rapidly for 2 minutes.

 

 

6.         Remove from the heat, stir in the Certo, pot and cover in the usual

way.
