Mamade Marmalade

 

 

 

1 can Mamade Prepared Oranges

¾ pints Water

5 lbs Sugar

1 bottle Certo

 

 

 

1.         Empty the contents of the Mamade can into a saucepan of about 4

quarts capacity.

 

 

2.         Add ¾ pints of water and 5 lbs Sugar.

 

 

3.         Bring to the boil, stirring continuously with a wooden spoon.  Reduce

heat to maintain a gentle boil for a further 15 minutes, stirring all the time to prevent burning.

 

 

4.         Remove from the heat, stir in the Certo.  Allow to stand for several

minutes before pouring into previously warmed jars.  (If peel floats, stir

each jar with a teaspoon).

 

 

5.         Cover the surface with waxed paper whilst still hot and leave to cool

before capping with parchment or cellophane.
