Grape Jelly

 

 

 

3 lbs Ripe Grapes

½ Bottle Certo

¼ Pint Water

Juice of 1 Lemon

3 ¼ lbs Sugar

 

 

 

1.         Use only fully ripe fruit.  To prepare juice, stem the fruit and crush

thoroughly.

 

 

2.         Add ¼ pint water, bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

 

 

3.         Place the fruit in a jelly cloth or bag and squeeze out the juice.

 

 

4.         Measure the sugar and juice and add the juice of 1 lemon into a large

saucepan and mix well.

 

 

5.         Heat slowly until the sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly.

 

 

6.         Bring to a full rolling boil and boil quickly, and add the Certo at once. 

Boil for 30 seconds.

 

 

7.         Skim, pot and cover in the usual way.
