Plum and Apple Jam
2 ½ lbs Plums
2 lbs prepared Apples (from 3 lbs cooking apples)
½ pint Water
6 ¾ lbs Sugar
1 bottle Certo
1. Wash the plums, cut into pieces,
removing as many of the stones as
desired.
2. Peel and core apples, cut into small
pieces.
3. Put the fruit and water into a large
saucepan, bring to boil, cover and
simmer
for 15 minutes or until the fruit is tender.
4. Add the sugar, stir until dissolved,
then bring to a full rolling boil.
5. Boil hard for 2 minutes.
6. Remove from the heat and stir in the
Certo. Skim, pot and cover in the
usual way.
